What Caused the Find Great People Data Breach?

The Find Great People data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. However, Find Great People’s filing with the Attorney General of Maine provides some important information on what led up to the breach. According to this source, on July 19, 2024, FGP experienced a network disruption impacting the functionality of the company’s IT network. In response, FGP disconnected its network and then launched an investigation with the help of outside cybersecurity experts.

While the investigation was ongoing, FGP found evidence that some files may have been accessed by an unauthorized party. Upon further investigation, FGP was able to confirm that the period of unauthorized access was from July 2, 2024 to July 19, 2024, and that during this period, the unauthorized party was able to access confidential information belonging to certain individuals.

After learning that sensitive consumer data was accessible to an unauthorized party, Find Great People reviewed the compromised files to determine what information was leaked and which consumers were impacted. FGP completed this process on September 13, 2024. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, address, date of birth, Social Security number, driver’s license number, passport, health insurance policy number, financial account number, and medical information.

On October 1, 2024, Find Great People sent out data breach letters to anyone who was affected by the recent data security incident. These letters should provide victims with a list of what information belonging to them was compromised.
