With the Biden administration taking shape in Washington, D.C., and Democrats now fully in control of Congress, the federal government will have a renewed focus on legal and regulatory enforcement. This will both free up resources for state attorney general offices and open opportunities for attorneys general to work in tandem with the federal government in a way that will exponentially enhance their regulatory capabilities.
As chair of Blank Rome’s State Attorneys General Team, I have been working to ensure that our Firm is prepared to guide you and your business through this new environment.
We expect state attorneys general to continue their increasingly broad and active pursuit of investigations and lawsuits, particularly in the areas of consumer protection, civil rights, labor and employment, environmental enforcement, antitrust, and COVID-related compliance.
