Q: In a world where you can get measles at Disney World, can I ask my employees if they have been vaccinated?

A: This inquiry is generally part of a pre-employment physical for certain occupations or industries, such as healthcare, where you are required by law to inquire into communicable diseases. It is possible that if the job takes you to high risk areas, this may also be a job-related inquiry. The ADA only allows you to inquire as to health-related matters post contingent offer and only if job-related.
