Indiana Reforming Beer Laws

Last week, the Indiana House of Representatives voted 87-7 to raise the production limit on the amount of beer that can be produced by craft breweries. The proposed legislation would increase the production level to 90,000 barrels a year. The proposed legislation would also allow breweries to sell beer by the glass at fairs and festivals.

In the last five years, the State of Indiana has seen the craft beer segment of the industry increase from 40 craft breweries to nearly 100. Recognizing the significance of the economic impact of this manufacturing based segment of the state economy, the State of Indiana is trying to create a more business friendly environment for its craft breweries.
