What We Know So Far About the iSpace Breach
News of the iSpace data breach is still fresh; however, what we know at this point comes from the company’s filing with the Attorney General of Montana as well as a “Notice of Data Event” on the iSpace website. According to these sources, on February 5, 2023, iSpace detected suspicious activity within its computer system. In response, iSpace secured its network and launched an investigation into the incident in hopes of learning what, if any, consumer data was leaked.
The iSpace investigation confirmed that certain files stored within iSpace’s environment were accessed and copied by an unauthorized individual between January 30, 2023 and February 5, 2023. The company also learned that some of these files contained confidential consumer information that had been provided to iSpace as a result of the services the company provides to its clients.
Upon discovering that sensitive consumer data was made available to an unauthorized party, iSpace began to review the affected files to determine what information was compromised and which consumers were impacted. The company completed this process on March 3, 2023. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, Social Security number, date of birth, diagnosis information, health insurance group/policy number, health insurance information, subscriber number, and prescription information.
On May 31, 2023, iSpace sent out data breach letters to all individuals whose information was compromised as a result of the recent data security incident.
