What Caused the Janna Pharmacy Data Breach?

The Janna Pharmacy data breach was only recently announced, and more information is expected in the near future. However, at this early point, Apotheco Pharmacy’s filing with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights provides only very little information on what led up to the breach.

According to this source, we know that the incident involved the “unauthorized access / disclosure” of confidential information that was stored on an email system.
