Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson, by Executive Order 20-13, as part of his COVID-19 response, has mandated new social distancing protocols for all businesses, construction companies, and places of worship operating in Arkansas. The new requirements, which were effective on April 6, 2020, include the following:

  1. Limit the number of people who can enter the facility at any one time to ensure that all people in the facility can maintain a six-foot distance from each other;
  2. If lines of people form (either inside or outside), facilities are required to mark locations for people in line to stand so that they can maintain a six-foot distance from each other;
  3. Provide hand sanitizer, soap and water, or other effective disinfectants for use by employees (i) at or near entrances to the facility; (ii) in locations where there is high-frequency interaction between employees and the public; and (iii) in other appropriate areas.
  4. Provide, at retail point of sale, contactless payment systems or disinfect all payment portals, pens and styluses after each use.
  5. Regularly disinfect any high-touch services; and
  6. Post an easily readable sign at the entrances of the facility stating the following:

NOTICE TO ALL PEOPLE ENTERING,

Pursuant to State of Arkansas Executive Order 20-13(3)(f)

  • Do not enter if you have a cough or fever.
  • Maintain a minimum six-foot distance from other people.
  • Sneeze and cough into your elbow.
  • Do not shake hands or engage in any unnecessary physical contact.
