Livingston International, Inc. Files Notice of Data Breach Leaking Consumers’ SSNs

On April 24, 2023, Livingston International, Inc. (“Livingston”) filed a notice of data breach with the Texas Attorney General determining that confidential consumer information that had been entrusted to the company was subject to unauthorized access. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to consumers’ names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, and financial account information. After confirming that consumer data was leaked, Livingston began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who were impacted by the recent data security incident.

What We Know So Far About the Livingston International Breach

News of the Livingston International data breach is still fresh; however, what we know at this point comes from the company’s filing with the Texas Attorney General. Unfortunately, the information made available through the Texas AG’s site is limited, and Livingston has not yet posted notice of the breach on its website, so information about the breach is limited. However, what we do know is that Livingston International recently determined that an unauthorized party was able to access confidential information that the given to the company. It is not yet clear if the breach occurred at Livingston or a third-party vendor of the company.

However, upon discovering that sensitive consumer data was made available to an unauthorized party, Livingston International began to review the affected files to determine what information was compromised and which consumers were impacted. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, address, Social Security number, driver’s license number, and financial account information.

On April 24, 2023, Livingston International sent out data breach letters to all individuals whose information was compromised as a result of the recent data security incident.
