Hospitals and critical access hospitals (CAHs) that wish to receive a 2013 incentive payment under the FY 2013 Medicare Electronic Health Records (EHR) Program must register and submit their attestations by November 30, 2013. Hospitals must attest yearly to demonstrating meaningful use in order to receive an incentive payment and avoid a payment adjustment. Hospitals that have not successfully demonstrated meaningful use can expect to see payment adjustments beginning October 1, 2014.
