The Missouri Public Utility Alliance (“MPUA”) has scheduled its Annual Conference (“Conference”) for September 25th -27th .
The Conference will be held in Branson, Missouri.
A focus of the Conference will be what utilities need to have in place for an ever-changing industry. The presentations will provide tips on how to reassess plans so the different aspects of utility service can seamlessly work together down the road. By taking a holistic approach, MPUA states all utilities can continue being responsive to their community’s needs while providing reliable and affordable service.
Featured presentation topics will include:
- Municipal Utilities Moving Forward (Addressing new trends, technologies, and customer expectations for the electric industry that can also be applied to any utility.)
- Voices of Experience | Leveraging AMI Networks and Data (original business cases for implementing an advanced metering infrastructure)
- Environmental Regulations: Hitting the Brake or Gas Pedal? (Addressing trends in regards to future environmental laws that will impact electric/water/wastewater utilities)

I will be undertaking a presentation titled:
Medical Marijuana’s Impact on the Utility Industry
This session will address the impact on electric, water and wastewater utilities with Missouri’s recent passage of medical marijuana. An overview will be provided of both cultivation and manufacturing facilities and what utility providers can expect from these commercial customers.
