The week of March 13-17, Governor Roy Cooper released his budget recommendations for the 2023-24 biennium and House budget writers spent a good part of the week negotiating their version of the State Budget. The Senate passed a number of pieces of legislation that the House had debated earlier this session.
In the upcoming week, the House will have a busy Tuesday with committee hearings and the budget will continue to be written. The Senate is planning for a quieter week, allowing for bill proposals to be drafted and filed. Bill filling in both chambers will continue.
