California published new guidance on which business sectors and workers are exempt from Governor Newsom’s “Stay Home” directive. The centerpiece of the new guidance is a list of “Essential Critical Infrastructure Workers,” delineating certain types and categories of workers that may continue without violating the state’s prior directive. Industries include, but are not limited to, health care, transportation, real estate and construction, retail, oil and gas, communications, and manufacturing. This situation remains dynamic as guidance from the state and local governments continues to be updated. The state’s guidance is available at https://covid19.ca.gov/stay-home-except-for-essential-needs/ and https://covid19.ca.gov/img/EssentialCriticalInfrastructureWorkers.pdf.
