Recently, the Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) provided additional resources to assist municipalities in submitting a district compliance application. MBTA communities with inclusionary zoning requirements that require an economic feasibility analysis may now find details, instructions and forms for conducting and submitting the analysis on the State’s website. The release of this information means that all MBTA communities can submit a district compliance application.

Additionally, a sample zoning bylaw/ordinance, complete with commentary and suggestions, is also now available on the State’s website.

Lastly, as of May 30, 2023, DHCD finalized its transition to the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities (EOHLC). Importantly, all existing contracts with DHCD will remain fully valid once the transition to EOHLC is made.
