The Wall Street Journal reported that the new Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) Director Catherine Eschbach announced to agency staff that they will review Affirmative Action Plans and data files submitted by federal contractors before President Trump took office to assess whether they should be investigated further or penalized for discriminatory employment practices.

DCI President and Institute for Workplace Equality co-founder, David Cohen, was quoted in the article, noting that federal contractors are looking for clear guidance from OFCCP during this transitional time. However, details regarding what the agency would specifically be searching for were not immediately apparent.

Changes Coming to OFCCP

The Wall Street Journal also cites an email from Catherine Eschbach to OFCCP staff members saying, “The reality is, most of what OFCCP had been doing was out of step, if not flat out contradictory, to our country’s laws, and all reform options are on the table.”

DCI is closely following the actions of OFCCP and Department of Labor on this front and will continue to monitor developments and update our clients.
