OSHA has begun inspecting work sites for safety related to COVID-19 and has now issued its first COVID-related citation to an employer. To help employers provide a safe workplace, OSHA has published several documents to assist employers, including a Guidance on Preparing Workplaces for COVID-19, an Updated Interim Enforcement Response Plan for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), and Revised Enforcement Guidance for Recording Cases of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19).

One of the primary recommendations from OSHA is for each employer to create an Infectious Disease Preparedness and Response Plan.
