“The USPTO has issued a final rule notice reducing certain trademark fees. The reductions will benefit the public by lowering the costs of seeking and renewing federal registration. The rule decreases the fee for a TEAS Plus initial application by $50 to $225 per class, and establishes a new $275 per class option for the initial application, TEAS Reduced Fee (TEAS RF), to promote electronic communication while giving applicants more flexibility with the identification of goods/services. The rule also reduces the fee to renew a trademark registration by $100 to $300 per class, if filed via TEAS…A link to the full notice is available under “Recent Final Rules” at www.uspto.gov/trademarks/law/index.jsp.”
