  • According to the AG’s office, the refinery experienced multiple instances of unauthorized emissions and permit violations related to operator errors, equipment malfunctions, and poor maintenance practices.
  • Under the terms of the settlement, TotalEnergies will pay $1.3 million to the state of Texas and $100,000 in attorneys’ fees, and agreed to a series of corrective actions and associated compliance deadlines intended to prevent further unauthorized pollution.
