Postponed TTB reports and tax filings are now or will soon be due. On March 31, 2020, the TTB postponed most filings and excise tax payments for 90 days to provide relief for alcohol permitted businesses affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

On July 13, 2020, the TTB issued a TTB Special Edition Newsletter reminding permittees that the postponement has now ended for most businesses, and those postponed reports, tax returns, and excise tax payments are now or will soon be due.

  • For due dates for excise tax returns and payments, see TTB's Postponed 2020 Due Dates for Paying Excise Taxes and Filing Returns with TTB Due to COVID-19 (Attachment A)
  • For a table showing due dates for operational reports, see TTB's Postponed 2020 Due Dates for Filing Operational Reports with TTB Due to COVID-19 (Attachment B)

If you are unable to pay the amount due, the TTB recommends that permittees still file federal excise tax returns and operational reports by the due dates and pay as much as the permittee can to minimize penalties and interest. Permittees can also contact the TTB to discuss financial hardship by using the TTB's Financial Hardship Contact Request page.
