The National Minimum Wages Commission (CONASAMI) reached a unanimous agreement to increase the minimum wage, resulting in a general minimum wage of $ 172.87 pesos per day.
On the other hand, in the North Border Free Zone (ZLFN), which covers the border states of the north of the country and includes 5 municipalities of Baja California, 11 of Sonora, 8 of Chihuahua, 1 of Nuevo León and 10 of Tamaulipas , the agreed increase in the minimum wage for 2022, resulting in $ 260.34 pesos per day. The same percentage will be applied to professional minimum wages in that area.
The increase in general minimum wages is made up of the minimum wage in force in 2021, plus the sum of an Independent Recovery Amount (MIR) of 25.45 pesos for the ZLFN and 16.90 pesos for the rest of the country, and an increase by fixation of 9%.
These minimum wages will be effective as of January 1, 2022.
