The House of Representatives had a busy week, debating various bills. The House cleared the calendar in preparation for a two week furlough until after Easter. They will convene again at 10:00 on Tuesday, April 14, 2015.
The Senate spent most of their week meeting for short periods of time in session; spending most of their time in committees.
On Wednesday, the Senate convened for an hour and a half in order for the Senate Finance Committee to continue work on S.523, the SC Collective Road Act.
On Thursday, the Senate worked through the Calendar and carried over numerous bills. Senator Leatherman (R-Florence) moved to set S.523 for Special Order, but the motion failed. Several Senators took the podium to express personal points of order on the issue.
The Senate will convene at noon on Tuesday, March 31st. The Senate will take several days off for Easter, beginning April 2nd and returning on April 14th.
