The closing of a business transaction often depends upon a timely filing with the California Secretary of State's Business Programs Division.  Therefore, I was very pleased to see that the Secretary of State's office today will be resuming 24-hour expedited/preclearance service for business filings in Sacramento.

Filers who require these services should drop the document to be filed with separate checks or money orders (no cash or credit cards)in the Business Entities Drop Box in the Sacramento first floor lobby.  The drop-off envelope should be clearly marked with “24-hour Expedite”. The fee for preclearance is $500 and the fee for expedited filing is $350 plus the filing fee.

Additional information concerning business filings in light of the Covid-19 pandemic is available here.
