Stroke Scan, Inc. Files Notice of Data Breach Affecting 50k Consumers

On January 27, 2023, Stroke Scan Inc. filed notice of a data breach with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights (“HHS-OCR”) after learning that confidential consumer information stored on the company’s computer network had been compromised. Based on the company’s official filing with the OCR-HHS, it is very likely that the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to consumers’ protected health information. After confirming that consumer data was leaked, Stroke Scan began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who were impacted by the recent data security incident.
