The Arkansas Oil Marketers Association circulated an announcement by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (“FMCSA”) which provides a Regional Emergency Declaration related to Subtropical Storm Alberto.

The Regional Emergency Declaration has been issued for the following Southeastern states:

  • Florida
  • Alabama
  • Mississippi
  • Louisiana
  • Arkansas
  • Tennessee
  • Texas

FMCSA states that such Emergency Declarations trigger the temporary suspension of certain Federal safety regulations, including hours-of-service, for motor carriers and drivers engaged in specific aspects of the emergency relief effort.
