Media reports indicate that Department of Education Secretary DeVos is planning a major announcement regarding Title IX enforcement on Thursday of this week. DeVos indicated that changes could be forthcoming after she hosted several listening sessions involving victim advocates, representatives of the falsely accused, and higher education officials in July.

Several Harvard Law professors sent a memo to Department of Education proposing changes to Title IX enforcement, including narrowing the definition of sexual assault and providing more due process protections for the accused.

Title IX suit alleges Baylor denied student academic help after reporting assault:
On Friday, three former students alleged Baylor University failed to adequately respond after they reported instances of sexual assault to campus administrators. In the lawsuit, the former students bring several causes of action, including violation of Title IX, negligence, and breach of contract. The case is captioned Jane Doe 12, Jane Doe 13, and Jane Doe 14 v. Baylor University, No. 6:17-cv-00236 (W.D.Tx. Sep. 9, 2017).
