The Asia-Pacific region integrates the mining industry within the life cycle of the global economy more fluidly than perhaps anywhere else in the world.
Metals and minerals extracted from the region are transported to the manufacturing hubs and population centres of South and East Asia, creating much of the world’s technologically sophisticated manufacturing as well as supporting much of the world’s construction. The mining industry in the Asia-Pacific region is driven by insatiable global demand for technological goods, coupled with the pressing infrastructure needs of a rapidly urbanising region with over half the world’s population.
