As the six month mark of President Trump’s time in office approaches, there are still a number of positions he has yet to formally nominate or the Senate has yet to confirm. There are approximately 1,200 positions that require Senate approval; to date, only 129 people have been nominated and are awaiting Senate action and 47 positions have been confirmed.

The following have only had their top level positions confirmed by the Senate:*

  • Department of Agriculture
  • Department of Commerce
  • Department of Education
  • Department of Energy
  • Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • Department of Labor
  • Department of Veterans Affairs
  • Department of the Interior
  • The Environmental Protection Agency
  • The Office of the Director of National Intelligence
  • The Small Business Administration
  • The Nuclear Regulatory Commission
  • Securities and Exchange Commission

By July 10, the past four presidents had an average of 168 presidential appointments confirmed by the Senate. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has cancelled the first two weeks of the August Recess with the hope of confirming the nominations that have been formally made.

The Washington Post is tracking the positions here.
