On June 6, 2024, the US Department of the Treasury (Treasury) issued a request for information (RFI) on the “uses, opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence (AI) in the financial services sector.” The RFI seeks information from a broad range of stakeholders to increase Treasury’s understanding of AI as it explores “enhancements to legislative, regulatory, and supervisory frameworks” that may be necessary to govern the use of AI in the financial services sector.
