The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has impacted employers worldwide. This exceptional situation and measures taken to deal with it have significantly affected business life. Employers are trying to adopt temporary measures to ensure the continuity of work, and to protect the health and safety of their employees. This memorandum discusses the pandemic’s effect on employment contracts that are subject to Turkey’s Labor Law number 4857, and provides guidance to employers regarding measures and procedures that can be adopted to help ensure the continuity of those contracts.
