U.S. Citizenship And Immigration Services Issues Announcement About Using Form I-9: Continue To Use Existing Version Of Form For Now

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has recently issued a formal announcement confirming that employers should continue to use the current version of the Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification Form, despite its listed expiration date of March 31, 2016, until further notice. USCIS is currently accepting public comments on its proposed changes to Form I-9, which are due by April 27, 2016. The current version of the Form I-9 can be found on the USCIS website: http://www.uscis.gov/i-9.  Laner Muchin will continue to provide updates as soon as USCIS issues further announcements on this issue.
