The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) issued a February 6th news release stating that a joint public meeting will be held with the Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) to discuss a proposed settlement with Georgia-Pacific regarding facilities in Crossett, Arkansas.
The settlement addresses alleged Clean Air Act violations by Georgia-Pacific. (See previous post here.)
EPA states that representatives from the federal agency, ADEQ, and Georgia-Pacific will attend. The attendees will discuss both the settlement and how to submit comments.
EPA, along with ADEQ and Georgia-Pacific had previously entered into a proposed settlement addressing alleged Clean Air Act violations. Such violations are alleged to have involved:

Section 111 of the Clean Air Act New Source Performance Standards

Section 112 National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants

Chemical and Accident Provisions for Air Programs
The meeting will be held on February 7th at 6:00 p.m. at the Crossett Middle School.
