The United States Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) announced in a September 2nd news release the nomination of David Ross to serve as Assistant Administrator for the Office of Water.
Mr. Ross currently serves as a Wisconsin attorney general and director of the Environmental Protection Unit for the Wisconsin Department of Justice.
EPA describes Mr. Ross’ current duties as managing the environmental litigation unit responsible for prosecuting violations of state environmental and natural resources laws. His office also defends administrative decisions and rules issued by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. He previously served in the Wyoming Attorney General’s Office from 2014-2016 as senior assistant attorney general and as a member of the Water and Natural Resources Division.
The EPA Office of Water is responsible for implementing the Clean Water Act and Safe Drinking Water Act. It also has responsibility for portions of the:

EPA’s Office of Water has special relevance to Arkansas’s operation as a delegated state for the Clean Water Act and the Arkansas Department of Health as a delegated state for the Safe Drinking Water Act.
