OFAC is lifting U.S. sanctions against Sudan in connection with ongoing U.S.-Sudan bilateral engagement and in response to positive developments in Sudan over the past six months.  Scheduled for January 17, 2017, the lifting of sanctions will authorize U.S. persons to export goods, technology and services to Sudan; import goods, technology and services from Sudan; process transactions involving persons in Sudan; and engage in transactions involving property in which the Government of Sudan has an interest.

Affected persons will still need to comply with other OFAC regulations (including prohibitions on dealing with Specially Designated Nationals), the Export Administration Regulations, and other applicable laws.
