On April 12, 2023, Unlimited Care, Inc. (“UCI”) filed a notice of data breach with the Maine Attorney General after learning that a “network disruption” resulted in confidential employee information being compromised. Based on the company’s official filing, the incident resulted in an unauthorized party gaining access to consumers’ names, addresses, dates of birth, and Social Security numbers. After confirming that consumer data was leaked, UCI began sending out data breach notification letters to all individuals who were impacted by the recent data security incident.

If you were ever employed by Unlimited Care Inc. and the company sent you a data breach letter, it is essential you understand what is at risk and what you can do about it. What We Know So Far About the Unlimited Care Breach

News of the Unlimited Care data breach is still fresh; however, what we know at this point comes from the company’s filing with the Maine Attorney General. According to this source, on February 16, 2023, UCI detected a “network disruption” in its IT system. In response, the company secured its computer network and then began investigating the incident with the assistance of a team of cybersecurity experts.

Through this investigation, on March 21, 2023, UCI learned that an unauthorized party was able to access—and potentially steal—confidential information belonging to certain employees.

Upon discovering that sensitive employee data was made available to an unauthorized party, Unlimited Care began to review the affected files to determine what information was compromised and which consumers were impacted. While the breached information varies depending on the individual, it may include your name, address, date of birth, and Social Security number.

On April 12, 2023, Unlimited Care sent out data breach letters to all individuals whose information was compromised as a result of the recent data security incident.
