Presented by higher education attorneys Jessica Galanos and Erin Butcher, this two-day training covers the necessary information for decision-makers according to the new Title IX regulations, as well as provides practice making relevancy determinations.
This training satisfies annual Clery Act training requirements and new Title IX training requirements and covers:
- The new definition of sexual harassment under Title IX
- How to serve as an impartial decision-maker
- Avoiding prejudgment of the facts at issue
- Awareness of conflicts of interest and bias
- Facilitating live cross-examination
- Questions of relevancy and evidentiary exclusions
- Making a good decision
- Conducting a process consistent with your institution’s ethic of care
This training is limited to higher education institutions and is appropriate for Title IX Coordinators, decision-makers and other Title IX team members. This virtual event will be held via live online webinar. The first day of training will be held on Friday, June 12, 2020, and the second day will be held on Monday, June 15, 2020.

While this training includes instruction on the grievance and appeal processes required by the new Title IX regulations, it is not institution-specific and does not include an individualized assessment of policies and procedures.
