Washington State Governor Inslee has announced the state has released new guidance for enforcement of his Stay Home — Stay Healthy Proclamation.

The Proclamation temporarily prohibits individuals from leaving their home except for engaging in essential activities (such as buying groceries or medicine) or for engaging in essential business services.

The failure to comply after law enforcement has intervened may result in the agencies responsible for public safety taking formal enforcement actions against the business or individual. Enforcement actions include citations, suspension notices, revoking business licenses, potential criminal charges, and even a Consumer Protection Act violation action. In addition, the State of Washington has created a webpage reporting suspected violations of the Proclamation.
