Keyword search has been around since the inception of eDiscovery. Keywords works well in standard eDiscovery since their definitive character enable legal professionals to provide a clear scope in search, and find everything related to a topic.
Investigations are less clear-cut. The directive might be to find fraudulent behavior triggered by a whistleblower, but fraudsters tend to use codewords, so keyword searching is less suitable. The goal is also different: we're looking to find some evidence, which differs from the 'boil the ocean approach' in eDiscovery.
In this session, Jeffrey Wolff will take the audience through a whistleblower investigation and contrast the approaches of Traditional Review vs Enhanced Review. In traditional Review, Jeffrey will take a keyword search - approach. In the Enhanced Review approach, he'll take you through the same case, using more modern search techniques, ready-made for an investigations approach.
