This program will trace investigatory tactics and legal concepts from their blue-collar roots and discuss their application in a white-collar context, including:
- Discussion of how the criminal justice system, and the laws that govern it, have been significantly shaped by the emphasis on the War on Drugs.
- Trend of federal investigators and prosecutors increasingly using strategies and tactics that were developed in prosecutions of drug trafficking and organized crime against people and companies suspected of economic offenses.
- Qualified immunity, whistleblowers and challenges in the current environment.
CLE credit will be applied for in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Illinois, and Kansas.
