The EEOC and the DOL have released guidance on employer obligations under the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family Medical Leave Act when employees have mental health issues that interfere with their ability to work. With the recent surge in mental health problems, employers need to understand how to address employee requests for time off related to mental health conditions, and other accommodations that should be considered.
