The recent 2025 fee setting by the USPTO includes not only fee increases, but the introduction of new fees. One of these new fees is the so-called Information Disclosure Statement (IDS) size fees, which adds a range of fees for submitting an IDS that causes the cumulative number of applicant-provided references to exceed certain thresholds. After a brief review of the duty to disclose and information disclosure statements, this webinar discusses the IDS size fee and provides practical guidance on how to manage it.

During this webinar attendees can expect to learn:

  • The Who, What, When, and Why of the Duty to Disclose
  • The New Information Disclosure Statement Form
  • The New IDS Size Fees
  • Tips on How to Address the IDS Size Fees

Our speakers will be Fitch Even managing partner Mark W. Hetzler and Fleit IP partner Paul D. Bianco, PhD.

For over 30 years, Mark’s practice focuses on complex intellectual property issues, including litigation, IP portfolio management, licensing, and due diligence investigations. Mark assists a diverse client base, from individuals to large enterprises, in maximizing their IP value and navigating intricate legal landscapes, with particular expertise in mechanical and electro-mechanical technologies.

Paul is a seasoned intellectual property attorney with a strong background in bioengineering, specializing in all aspects of patent and trademark law and offers consultation for litigation. Paul also has extensive experience in patent appeals and post-grant proceedings before the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and trademark appeals, oppositions, and cancellations before the USPTO’s Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

CLE credit has been approved for California and Illinois and is pending for Nebraska. Other states may also award CLE credit upon attendee request. There is no fee to attend, but please note registration is required.
