As enterprise productivity platforms have evolved, so has the traditional email-attachment paradigm. Modern collaboration tools increasingly rely on the ability to share files without physically sending a copy to the recipient. These so-called "modern attachments" or "hyperlinked documents" can make it easy for geographically dispersed teams to work together, but they can also present significant challenges for electronic discovery.
In this session, Ryan Hemmel and Luke Groth of ProSearch will take a deep dive into best practices around handling these hyperlinked documents. They will explore relevant case law precedents, examine the differences between how these files can be collected across different technology platforms, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspaces, and share practical insights from their own experiences dealing with hyperlinked files.
