  • The National Association of Attorneys General, on behalf of a bipartisan coalition of AGs from all 50 states, D.C., and three U.S. territories, sent a letter to Congressional leaders asking them to take action to combat the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the exploitation of children.
  • In their letter, the AGs express concern with AI’s capability to create child sexual abuse material using “deepfake” technology, which studies real photographs to generate new and similar images.
  • The AGs urge Congress to establish an expert commission tasked with studying AI means and methods used to exploit children, and to take legislative action based on the commissions’ findings.
