The Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities is going through some changes now in leadership.

Late last month, the CHRO voted unanimously to appoint Tanya Hughes as the acting executive director. According to a press release, “she will serve on an interim basis while the Commission conducts a search to find a permanent executive director. Hughes replaces the retiring Robert J. Brothers, Jr. who has served as executive director since 2008.”

Hughes should be familiar to most who practice at the CHRO; she has served as the regional manager of the CHRO’s Bridgeport Office.

Hughes’ appointment comes shortly after the Commission had a new chairman appointed, Gary Collins.
