  • Arizona: Abe Hamadeh, with backing from Donald Trump, has emerged as the winner of the state’s GOP primary for AG, defeating attorney Rodney Glassman and retired Supreme Court Justice Andrew Gould, along with three other Republican candidates. Hamadeh will face Democrat Kris Mayes and two write-in Libertarian candidates in the general election. Current AG Mark Brnovich, who is term-limited, was defeated in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.
  • Kansas: Kris Kobach won the Kansas Republican primary for AG, defeating state Senator Kellie Warren and Tony Mattivi. He will face the Democratic nominee, former police officer Chris Mann. Current AG Derek Schmidt won the Republican primary for Kansas governor.
  • Tennessee: Six men have applied for the position of Tennessee AG. The state is unique in that the AG is selected by the state Supreme Court. The appointee will begin his eight-year term on September 1.
  • Missouri: Missouri AG Eric Schmitt has won the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate, and is anticipated to easily defeat Democratic candidate Trudy Busch Valentine, a beer family heiress from St. Louis, and independent candidate John Wood. Should AG Schmitt go on to victory in November, Republican Governor Mike Parson will appoint a new AG to serve the remainder of AG Schmitt’s term.
  • Michigan: An AG primary was not held in Michigan on Tuesday, August 2 as incumbent AG Dana Nessel did not draw a Democratic challenger, and Matt DePerno was selected as the Republican candidate at a GOP conference held in April. They will face Libertarian Joe McHugh in November.
