Belton, who is not affiliated with any political party, is a former president of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association and a board member for the National District Attorneys Association. Louisiana’s current AG, Republican Jeff Landry, is rumored to be considering a run for governor.
  • Idaho: Boise attorney Tom Arkoosh has announced that he will replace Steve Scanlin as the Democratic nominee for Idaho AG following Scanlin’s withdrawal from the race on July 18 for personal reasons.
